Arsenal are weighing up a new bid for Red Bull Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano in January.
The Gunners made an approach for Upamecano, 20, over the summer as Unai Emery looked to bolster his back line.
However, the bid of around £40million for Upamecano was rejected, with the Bundesliga side reportedly holding out for a figure close to his full release clause of £82million.
The Sun says Emery will return with a £40m bid.
The Gunners are said to be keen to bolster their defensive ranks in January but are willing to wait until the summer to sign their No.1 target.
