Arsenal are ready to make an improved offer for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Football.London says Arsenal are set to significantly increase their offer for Aouar.

The Gunners saw their first offer for the 22-year-old rejected out of hand on Friday, with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas - one of the toughest negotiators in the transfer market - even taking to Twitter to confirm that the Gunners had come up short.

Aouar has now been included in Lyon's squad to take on Lorient in Ligue 1 on Sunday, and as far as Aulas is concerned that means he will be staying at the club.

The Gunners' new bid for Aouar will come in the form of an initial £36.5million, followed by a potential further £9million in add-ons.

These could be triggered should Aouar succeed with the Gunners and even if he ends up winning personal awards.
