Arsenal tell Longoria that Marseille must go higher after first Guendouzi offer

Olympique Marseille are locked in talks for Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

The France U21 captain, after a season-long loan with Hertha Berlin, is up for sale at Arsenal after falling out manager Mikel Arteta last year.

Marseille chief Pablo Longoria wants to bring the former Lorient starlet back to France this summer and contact has been established with the player's camp.

La Provence says Longoria has also made an opening offer of €10m for Guendouzi, which was immediately thrown out by Arsenal.

However, the Gunners have offered Longoria encouragement by insisting they're willing to do business should he up his opening bid.
