Arsenal are chasing Everton pair Phil Jagielka and Stephen Pienaar.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made no secret of his admiration for Pienaar, describing him as 'one of the best players in the Premier League' last season.

"I have had my eye on him ever since he was a player at Ajax," he said.

Wenger could act if Barcelona are successful in luring Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.

The Mail on Sunday says he also remains keen on defender Jagielka.
