Arsenal have been stunned in Belarus 1-0 by Europa League opponents BATE Borisov.
Arsenal slumped to a disappointing first leg defeat in the Europa League last 32.
Stanislav Dragun nodded home Igor Stasevich's free-kick for the game's only goal just before half-time.
Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette had a goal disallowed early in the second half before being sent off for elbowing Aleksandar Filipovic.
A resolute Bate held on for the win, their first over an English side at home in European competition.
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown remarked: "It was as poor as I can remember, certainly under (Unai) Emery. BATE, you have to give them credit.
"Arsenal just didn't have the penetration. They were so sloppy. They have got to do better than this.
"Arsenal had so much possession but there was so many stray passes.
"The pitch is not an excuse. That's a very disappointing result."
