Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has been ruled out of the 2016 European Championships due to a knee injury, according to the Daily Mail.
The 25-year-old forward injured his knee during the 2-2 draw with Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Sunday and is now out of contention to make the England squad for Euro2016, which is to be named by Roy Hodgson on Thursday.
The report claims that initial scans have suggested a cartilage strain, which would rule the striker out for six weeks.
However, fears exist that Welbeck might have torn his cartilage in which case he might miss the start of next season for the Gunners.
