Arsenal striker Mika Biereth reflects on brace in Man City U23 thriller

Arsenal striker Mika Biereth had mixed emotions after their 3-3 draw with Manchester City U23s this week.

Biereth scored twice in the six goal thriller.

He told the club's website: "The game had a bit of everything didn't it? We scored three, they scored three. City being top of the table and us being up there in the league as well, it was a good game to put on in front of the fans but we come away with a bitter taste in our mouth. The game was there for us, 3-1 up with a couple of minutes to go and it was a bit schoolboy from us. We really should have finished the game off and come away with the three points but it's something to learn from.

"Kevin (Betsy, coach) just told us in the changing room, we started the season off with a 6-1 against West Ham and now we're coming to the end of the season and we're drawing 3-3 where we thought we should have beaten Man City.

"They won the league the last couple of years and they are up there with great quality players. We've got to look at ourselves and we have the same quality players to compete with them – it's great learning and just shows we are making improvements and that's all you can ask for. To make that next step into the first team it's all about results so we've got to keep going."
