Arsenal are moving ahead with their interest in Eray Comert from Basel.

The 21-year-old would be available for a cut price fee of close to £7 million.

Unai Emery is a fan of the player and knows the signing would fit the Gunners' limited summer transfer budget.

The defender would not be their only defensive addition, as the club are also interested in Kieran Tierney from Celtic for left back and central defender Willima Saliba from Saint Etienne.

Comert is currently at a pre-season training camp in Munich with Basel, but the Daily Mail reports that he would be keen on the move to London.

The youngster is captain of the Swiss under-21 team.
