Arsenal starlet Reiss Nelson is pleased with the encouragement he's received from Raheem Sterling.

Nelson spent last season at Hoffenheim and is hoping to break into Unai Emery's first-team plans upon his return to the Emirates.

And England U21 whizkid Nelson says Manchester City star Sterling has become a role model for the younger generation.

Nelson said: "Raheem Sterling is a role model to a lot of young lads coming through. He gives me little messages on Instagram, like, 'Keep going'.

"It is good to have people like him in and around the England set-up to give you the pat on the back so that you know you are doing well and good things are coming."
