Arsenal, Spurs target Malcom: I'm taking English lessons

Bordeaux attacker Malcom has revealed he's taking English lessons as he prepares to leave this summer.

The 21-year-old Brazilian was the subject of a January bid from Tottenham, who wanted him to stay at Bordeaux for the rest of this season before moving to them.

That move was rejected by the French club, but Malcom — who was also linked with Arsenal — does intend to leave in the summer so he can earn international recognition.

The winger said: "I want to play for an elite club in Europe, win the Champions League and play for the Selecao [Brazil's national team]. When I play for a big club, my chances improve.

“I want to thank Bordeaux for everything.

“First I want to finish the season with the best possible result and then I am going to sit down with my agent and family. Together we will make a decision.

"I am learning English, because it is the most important language in the world. Wherever you are, with English you can get along. So that is very important for me."
