Arsenal are ready to offer £5 million for Hoffenheim midfielder Maicosuel.

The News of the World says the midfielder has been earning rave reviews in the Bundesliga at TSG Hoffenheim.

Boss Arsene Wenger, keen to add to his ranks in January, has sent scouts to watch Maicosuel in action.

The 23-year-old would have no problems settling into the Arsenal squad as his Brazilian colleague Denilson is a key member of the first-team group at Emirates Stadium.
