Arsenal will not hand Mesut Ozil a new contract, according to reports.

Ozil is currently the club's wage earner with £350,000-a-week.

His current deal expires in the summer of 2021, and the Express says the Gunners are happy for him to leave.

The Gunners want to use the money freed up by Ozil's departure on re-signing Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reiss Nelson.

Over the weekend, Ozil's agent, Erkut Sogut, said the 31-year-old had no plans on leaving the North London club.

He said: "Mesut is really happy where he is at Arsenal, he still has another year of his contract to go and there is no change."
