Arsenal have joined the interest in Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.

The Telegraph says Liverpool have fresh competition for rumoured transfer target Carlos.

The Reds have been linked with a move for the Sevilla centre-back in recent weeks, with the 27-year-old thought to have a £68m release clause in his contract.

Arsenal have joined the Reds and Manchester City in expressing an interest in the defender.

The report adds that Gunners manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu is looking at Carlos as part of a major squad overhaul this summer.
