Arsenal refusing to hand Lacazette long-term deal over Ozil, Mustafi fears

Arsenal chiefs are in no mood to hand French forward Alexandre Lacazette a long term contract.

The 30-year-old is a free agent in the summer, as his present deal runs to the end of the season.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are not ruling out an agreement that would extend Lacazette's stay at the club.

However, the club do not want to offer a long-term contract to a 30-year-old, as they are concerned about how that turned out with Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis, and others over the years.

Lacazette renewing for several years may also prompt the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun to seek other clubs, as their path to regular starts would be a lot more difficult.
