Arsenal have dismissed claims from Swedish billionaire Daniel Ek of a takeover offer.

Ek took to social media yesterday to insist he had made the proposal.

He stated, "I think it's important to correct the record — this week an offer was made to both Josh Kroenke and their bankers that included fan ownership, representation on the board and a golden share. They replied that they don't need the money. I respect their decision but I remain interested and available should that situation ever change."

Yet, an Arsenal spokesperson reacted, insisting: "Nothing has been received by KSE. Their position remains unchanged."
