Arsenal are prioritising Monchi as their new technical director.

The Mirror says Arsenal want Monchi to be their next technical director after sounding out the candidates.

The Roma sporting director is hugely respected within the game and worked previously with Unai Emery at Sevilla.

Reports in Italy suggest that Roma are already looking at replacements for Monchi with Inter's Sporting Director Piero Ausilio said to be in the frame.

Arsenal have also have former winger Marc Overmars on the shortlist but the Ajax director of football lacks Monchi's top level experience.
