Arsenal had a scout posted to the Russian Premier League on the weekend.
Sport-Express says a representative of Arsenal attended Saturday's game between Sochi and Krylia Sovetov.
The scout was checking on Krylia Sovetov's 22-year-old striker Alexandr Sobolev.
Sobolev scored twice for his team's win.
Manchester United and Dortmund Borussia are also following the youngster.
