Arsenal plan bid for Chelsea target Talisca after THIRD scouting check

Arsenal are moving to trump Chelsea for Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca. The Daily Star says Talisca, 20, has been a revelation this season for Benfica and is currently top scorer in the Portuguese league.

Gunners scouts watched him in action for Brazil's under-21 side against Bolivia on Friday.

It was the third time Arsene Wenger has had the youngster watched, and contact has now been made with his agent.

Talisca was wanted by a host of Premier League teams, including Chelsea, when he left Brazilian side Bahia in the summer.

But work permit issues meant he ended up signing a five-year deal with Benfica instead, and he is currently in red-hot form.
