Arsenal are ready to bid for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender.
The Mail on Sunday says Arsenal are eyeing Bender as an alternative to Mario Gotze.
Gotze chose Bayern Munich ahead of the Gunners when deciding to leave Borussia Dortmund last season.
