Arsenal have opened talks with Marcelino about the vacant manager's post.
The former Valencia coach is in London this week and Cadena Cope says negotiations have comenced with the Gunners.
Marcelino would step in to replace Unai Emery, who was sacked on November 29.
Marcelino was fired by Valencia in September. He previously coached Villarreal and Sevilla.
