Zeljko Buvac resigned as Liverpool assistant manager on Sunday.
The Mirror says Buvac tendered his resignation on Sunday, in a move that came as a major shock just days ahead of their clash with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
Buvac has been Jurgen Klopp's long-time assistant, working with the Reds chief for 17 years at Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.
He has reportedly emerged as a serious candidate to replace Arsene Wenger as Arsenal boss - just 24 hours after his Anfield exit.
A new club hierarchy, including head of football relations Raul Sanllehi, head of recruitment Sven Mislintat and chief executive Ivan Gazidis are leading the search for Wenger's replacement.
And according to a report in Bosnia, courtesy of Pravda BL - who confirmed Klopp's appointment on Merseyside just before he took up the post in 2015 - Buvac is set to head to the Emirates this summer.
