Arsenal will have to pay big money if they're to offload Mesut Ozil to MLS.
The Daily Express says DC United are reported to be interested in Ozil replacing the outgoing Wayne Rooney, who is joining Derby County in January.
He is believed to be the Premier League's second-highest earner behind Manchester United flop and former Arsenal player Alexis Sanchez, on wages of £350,000 per week.
But salaries in Major League Soccer are nowhere near those paid by Premier League clubs, with the league's top earner Zlatan Ibrahimovic on £115,000 per week.
So the Germany midfielder would have to take a pay cut if DC United can be persuaded to take him on when his representatives fly to Washington this week.
One option is that Arsenal could part-fund any deal.
