Arsenal midfielder Wilshere: Past season has been crazy

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere admits he's had a "crazy" first full season in the Premier League.

Wilshere can put his feet up after a marathon campaign ended with him earning man-of-the-match plaudits after the 2-2 draw with Switzerland.

Wilshere said: "It's been a crazy year. I have played 60 games this season and enjoyed every minute.

"For the first 70 minutes yesterday, I was fine.

"But at the end I was feeling tired. Now I've got four weeks off and then I come back to get ready for next season.

"I can't wait to get away and lie on a beach somewhere. Then it's back to Arsenal where I'm ready for the expectation. We want to deliver trophies and win every game.

"I know about the expectations about playing for England, too.

"I have always played international football and at the end of the day it's just the intensity which changes.

"But I'm playing with great players. Rio Ferdinand and John Terry are always talking you through the game.

"I feel like I'm comfortable playing for England in midfield.

"I see myself as a box-to-box player."
