Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is delighted with his move to Roma.

He joins on a one-season loan, at a cost of €3m plus up to €100,000 in performance-related bonuses.

“It's a great opportunity for me to begin a new chapter, with a great club," Mkhitaryan told the Roma website.

“I know what this club is all about and I am sure we can achieve great things together."

AS Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi added: "Henrikh fits our desire to add players to the squad who can serve as examples to our younger players, and who have the technical quality to quickly adjust to Serie A football."
