Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be able to play in the Europa League final.

Tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia meant that Arsenal were considering leaving him at home.

However, the Azerbaijani UK ambassador has personally assured the club and Mkhitaryan that he will be safe.

Tahir Taghizadeh said to the media on Mkhitaryan's safety if he traveled: "Absolutely."

"I would be delighted for him to have a conversation with me.

"This is a Class A event, if our purpose is to play political games around it it is something different, you are being paid as a footballer not a politician, let's leave other issues aside."
