Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has explained quitting PSG's youth system.
Guendouzi walked out on PSG to join Lorient as a junior player.
He recalled: "I had the opportunity to develop at the PSG training center through to 15 to 16 years of age. But when I was around 14 or 15, I felt that there was not necessarily a project based on young people.
"Many big stars were recruited, for me, at that time there was not really a project for young players. I told myself that I was going to have the opportunity to play pro more quickly in another club, that's what happened in Lorient."
Guendouzi admits PSG tried to re-sign him last summer.
"They were interested, like many other clubs, there were discussions. For me the best choice to make was Arsenal."
