Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is reportedly close to agreeing a move to Fiorentina this summer.

The Uruguayan has endured a difficult loan spell at Atletico Madrid and will return to north London once the season ends.

And Gazzetta dello Sport says Fiorentina are 'well ahead' in talks to sign Torreira once the transfer window re-opens.

Torreira has experience in Italy, having played for Sampdoria before joining Arsenal after an impressive World Cup campaign in 2018, for a deal worth around £26m.

He has made 89 appearances for the Gunners, but fell out of favour with current manager Mikel Arteta.
