Arsenal ace Ceballos: We finally beat Chelsea this season - what a time to do it

Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos was delighted to win the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Arsenal won 2-1 in Saturday's Cup final at Wembley thanks to a brace from captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gunners striker scoring both his goals after Christian Pulisic had put Chelsea ahead on the day.

And Ceballos impressed on the day as he enjoyed his battle with Chelsea's midfield. On-loan from Real Madrid, Ceballos concedes Chelsea had proved too strong for them during the Premier League season and so was delighted to get one back on their London rivals at Wembley.

He told Marca: "It has been a very difficult season and closing it with an FA Cup, with the value that this title has in England, has been very good for us and on top of that it gives us the pass to the Europa League.

"The game was very difficult for us, with the 0-1, and in a final it is very difficult, but the team knew how to react and overcome the match.

"This season we had not beaten Chelsea and what better time than in a final!"

Having joined Arsenal last summer, Ceballos overcame hamstring issues to enjoy an impressive final stretch of the campaign for the season restart. The midfielder managed 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and producing two assists.

Victory on Saturday sees Arsenal qualify for next season's Europa League, which could help the Gunners convince Ceballos to return next season. With the season now over in England, Ceballos' loan with Arsenal has also concluded.
