Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes Manchester United struggling in mid table is an indication of the quality in the Premier League.

The Red Devils are in the middle of the pack at present, and only a win against Arsenal on Thursday would see them make any meaningful impact on the gap to the top four positions.

Arteta, whose team has been through its share of struggles early this season, spoke about United and the league's quality in a pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

He stated about United: "Well, it shows the competition and the league that we are involved in.

"That any team can cause a problem, that it's not as simple as putting names and numbers in there, it's much more than that.

"Undoubtedly the quality that they have, and you haven't mentioned the other three or four of them that can play in that position, it's incredible and it's why that club has been so successful as well."
