Arsenal make it clear that Barcelona target Bellerin going nowhere

Arsenal have reportedly made it vehemently clear that they had no plans to sell Hector Bellerin.

The Spanish right-back continues to be heavily linked with former club Barcelona but Guillem Balague suggests the Gunners are not even entertaining the thought of offloading the 2015/16 Premier League Team of the Year selectee.

Balague does, however, indicate that Barca have a back-up plan ion the form of Chelsea's Cesar Azpilicueta if Arsenal remain strong in their convictions.

"In truth, the player that Barcelona really want is Hector Bellerin and they still think they have a chance of taking him from under Arsenal's nose," he wrote for Sky Sports.

"Unfortunately for them Arsenal have made it abundantly clear that Bellerin is going nowhere, at any price, hence Barcelona's plan B which involves Azpilicueta.

"The problem there is that if Chelsea are going to sell him, to make it worth their while they will be looking for around 18m euros (£13.7m) for the utility full-back, considerably more than Barcelona were thinking of paying."

The full-back pair are currently away with the Spain national team at Euro2016, where they will meet Italy in the Round of 16 in Paris on Monday.
