Arsenal made an attempt to sign a new left-back on Thursday's deadline day, it has been revealed.

Sky Italia says Arsenal were knocked back in attempts to land Ricardo Rodriguez from AC Milan.

The full-back was keen to remain at AC Milan, despite reported attempts to take him to the Emirates.

Arsenal's bid was rejected by Milan before Rodriguez was even able to speak to the Gunners.

Unai Emery had been looking for cover at full-back with Nacho Monreal out injured.
