Arsenal loanee Jenkinson urges West Ham not to waste season

West Ham United right-back Carl Jenkinson has urged his teammates to not let go the strong season they have had go to waste.

West Ham were placed as high as fourth on the Premier League table at Christmas but now sit eighth with eight fixtures remaining.

He said: "We have had a strong season so far, we had a great start and as a team we do not want to let that go to waste, it would be a real shame if we do.

"I have got a lot of confidence in the boys that we are going to finish strongly.

"We have got eight games to go, and certainly some winnable games among them. We want to finish as high up the table as we possibly can."

Jenkinson, who is on loan from Arsenal, has been one of the most consistent performers for the Hammers this term which has prompted suggestions he could make permanent move to the east London club.
