Patrick Vieira is a serious contender to become the next manager of Arsenal - but not until Arsene Wenger's contract expires.

The Sun claim Wenger will not be fired even if the Gunners fail to win the Europa League.

Vieira is currently managing MLS side, New York City FC, who is an affiliate club of Manchester City.

Despite his inexperience at the top level, the 41-year-old is a fan favourite from his time as a player in north London.

The Frenchman made over 300 appearances for Arsenal and won three Premier League titles.
