Arsenal legend Wright: Ince doesn't need badges for Blackburn job

Arsenal legend Ian Wright insists former England pal Paul Ince doesn't need his coaching qualifications to take the Blackburn Rovers job.

Ince has been granted special dispensation to take the post and Wright told The Sun: "Apparently a guy who has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world, has captained his country and then worked wonders in the lower leagues isn't suitable to manage in the top flight.

"The League Managers' Association and the Premier League wanted him to earn his badges first.

"They have since said he can take over as long as he gets the UEFA Pro Licence within two years. But what will a course teach Paul Ince about football?

"Nothing is the answer. This is a man who experienced playing at the highest level with England.

"He played in European Cups with Manchester United, pulled the strings in midfield at Inter Milan and performed in front of the Kop.

"What he did at Macclesfield and then the MK Dons is a million times more useful than sitting in a classroom being taught by supposed football boffins.

"Here we have a young, bright, determined English-born bloke trying to make his way in the game and people are trying to stop him.

"And they wonder why we are struggling to breed top coaches."
