Arsenal legend Vieira, Ranieri frontrunners for Lille job

French champions Lille are contemplating the hiring of their next manager, despite having an immensely successful season.

Lille won their first Ligue 1 title in a decade, pipping giants Paris Saint-Germain to the trophy.

Christophe Galtier is departing the club this summer despite the dramatic title win.

Galtier is wanted by the likes of Lyon and Nice, with Lille president Olivier Letang upset at the way those clubs have gone after their head coach.

And L'Equipe reports that former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira are in the mix for the job.

Ranieri coached Nantes in Ligue 1 in 2017-2018, while Vieira has not worked since he left Nice in December 2020.
