New York City FC coach Patrick Vieira admits he has ambitions of taking charge of France national team.

The Arsenal legend also revealed he had offers from France during his time coaching at Manchester City.

"To train the French national team is a dream, just like it was a dream to win the World Cup in the blue shirt," he said.

"A while ago, I was talking with some French clubs. Very good clubs. For various reasons, we tried to find agreement, but unfortunately we couldn't.

"But there are some very interesting projects in France. Out of respect for the clubs in question, I can not say anything."
