Arsenal legend Seaman: Foreign invasion hurt England keeper stocks

Arsenal legend David Seaman says England's goalkeeping stocks have been hit by the foreign invasion.

After a golden era that lasted decades, England have struggled to produce a truly world class keeper in recent times.

Seaman told the Daily Mail: "I could see it when I was playing. Clubs bought in a lot of foreign keepers. Lots of young English goalkeepers didn't get a chance.

"Look at how many No 2s are now foreign. It's a high percentage. Managers seem to want this safety cushion."
