Arsenal legend Platt part of Bristol Rovers takeover bid

Arsenal legend David Platt is among the people who are involved in a consortium that is bidding to take over Bristol Rovers in League One.

The Bristol Post claims that there is one UK-based group of investors who want to relocate the club's stadium to a fruit market.

The report suggests that talks are still at an early stage, but there is a willingness from owner Wael Al Qadi to sell.

Platt is involved in the project due to his connection with English businessman Clive Richardson.

His group is reportedly competing with the first one to try and finalise a purchase of the club.

Fans will be hoping that Platt's consortium is successful.
