Arsenal legend Robert Pires is confident manager Arsene Wenger will sign a new contract.
Pires is confident Wenger will sign a new deal soon even if their trophyless period extends into a ninth year.
He told the International Business Times,: "Hopefully he will sign a new deal to stay. I think he will do it.
"He still can win titles this season but anyway I believe the most important thing for him is to qualify for the Champions League."
