Arsenal legend Parlour predicts signing flurry after World Cup

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour expects a lot of transfer activity following the World Cup.

As the tournament in Russia reaches its final stages, teams will be eliminated and players sent home. The result is more players free to complete transfers to their new clubs for the coming season.

And Parlour believes it will lead to a flurry of activity at the Emirates Stadium club.

One player being linked to Arsenal is Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Parlour said to the Daily Star: "In terms of potential players, there's talk of Ever Banega and a few others but the World Cup is so important, there's not going to be any big deals announced during it.

"The day it finishes there will be so many deals done. I'm expecting a lot of activity on the 15th July. That's when it gets serious.

"The guys go back to training and will be looking ahead to the first game."
