Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is to meet with Bordeaux officials today about the manager's job.

The Mirror says Henry will meet the new American owners of Bordeaux on Thursday before agreeing to take his first manager's job at the Ligue 1 club.

The Arsenal legend, 41, is close to a deal but is seeking assurances over future transfer funds. He plans to bring his former Gunners team-mate Gilles Grimandi in as his assistant.

Current boss Gus Poyet will be officially fired on Friday after his public criticism of the board last week.

Henry, France's record goal-scorer, resigned from his punditry job at Sky Sports to seek a full-time role in coaching and was considered by Aston Villa in the summer.
