Arsenal left Arteta and players in dark over Super League plans

Arsenal's players were left in the dark by the club's attempts to form a breakaway league.

The proposed Super League is now in shreds after all six Premier League clubs withdrew their commitment on Tuesday.

Football.London have reported that neither manager Mikel Arteta, or his players, were consulted by Arsenal decision makers at any stage of the process.

The proposals were met by almost universal criticism, with governments, governing bodies and rival teams all making their feelings known.

Supporters even travelled to the stadium on Monday night, hanging banners in protest at the plans that would see 15 of Europe's biggest clubs given a guaranteed place every season.

Arteta was asked on several occasions about the potential of Arsenal joining the league after the draw with Fulham, only to shrug off questions, claiming he had no idea.
