Arsenal prospect Craig Eastmond wants to establish himself as a central midfielder.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a major breakthrough in the past 12 months in that position, making his Premier League debut in the 2-0 win at Bolton last month. He proved an able deputy for Alex Song and believes that a defensive midfield role is where his future lies.
"When I was at Millwall [before I joined Arsenal in 2007] I played central midfield all the time," Eastmond told Arsenal TV Online.
"So when I went back to central midfield at Arsenal I knew what to do because reading the game is one of my strengths.
"In Alex Song's role his job is to break up the play, get into tackles, pass the ball and be aware. Alex has made the role his own. Now every time I travel with the first team or see him in the gym, I ask him questions and get some feedback."
