Arsenal have entered the race to secure the services of West Ham United target Chris Smalling, according to reports from The Sun.
Manchester United have recently agreed a £35m deal to sign Benfica defender Victor Lindelof and the impending arrival of the Swedish international has cast Chris Smalling's long term future at Old Trafford into doubt.
It is likely that Smalling will be leaving United this summer after failing to impress manager Jose Mourinho last season.
Reports claims that rivals Arsenal have joined West Ham United in the race to acquire the England international this summer.
