Arsenal have jumped into the race for Velez Sarsfield midfielder Thiago Almada.
Mundo Deportivo reports the Gunners have joined Inter Milan, Manchester City and Manchester United in pursuit of the Argentine teenager who has been dubbed the 'new Messi'.
With Velez set to sell Almada this summer, the interest from Europe is intensifying.
City failed to agree a price a year ago but now the auction has begun, ironically sparked by reports of United coming in for him.
The cost may be around £15million, plus extras.
Top sources in South America reveal that Almada, 19, is keen on City and wants to go there this summer.
