Arsenal have joined the battle for Ajax fullback Nicolas Tagliafico.

The Argentine was among the star performers for his club during their emphatic victory over Real Madrid in the Champions league on Tuesday night.

Ajax are willing to sell the 26-year-old for around £8million in the summer and he has emerged as prime target for compatriot Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

However, Arsenal are the other main rivals for his signature as they look to strengthen their defensive options, says the Daily Mail.

Tagliafico has scored five goals and contributed five assists in 31 appearances for Ajax this campaign.
