Arsenal hounded by Independiente over Martinez payment

Arsenal are the subject of a payment demand from Independiente regarding Emiliano Martinez.

The goalkeeper moved to Arsenal when he was 17 in 2010, and there were several clauses as part of the transfer.

Independiente claim that one of those clauses meant that Arsenal needed to pay them €500,000.

That money has not been paid, per Doble Amarilla - translated by Sport Witness.

The Argentine source suggests Independiente have been attempting to contact Arsenal about the payment, but have not gotten an appropriate response so far.

The deal for Martinez was for £1.35 million, with this payment said to be on top of that sum.
