Arsenal have hit a road-block in their attempt to prise Thomas Partey away from Atletico Madrid.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to add some solidity to his midfield and sees the 27-year-old as the perfect addition.
Partey has a £45million release clause attached to his contract but the Gunners are yet to meet that figure.
Sky Italia's Matteo Moretto reports the Premier League club are unwilling to pay that amount.
In addition to paying £45m to sign the midfielder, Arsenal will also have to stump up over £200,000-a-week in wages.
