Arsenal have been shutdown in their attempts to sign Jonny Evans at the last minute.
According to Sky Sports, West Bromwich Albion have turned down an offer for the defender from the Gunners.
The original offer was so below the Baggies valuation that negotiations didn't even begin on trying to work out a deal.
It is understood Arsenal's expenditure on the transfer fee of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil's new contract caused them to try and sneak a cheap fee for Evans.
After Manchester City, another potential Evans' suitor, decided to sign Aymeric Laporte, the Northern Irishman looks set to stay at the Hawthorns until the end of the season.
