Arsenal great Wright criticises Man Utd for lack of women's team

Arsenal great Ian Wright has urged Manchester United to start their own women's team.

The majority of clubs in the football league have fielded their own women's teams in recent years.

And Wright reckons United, given their stature in world football, should be setting an example for other clubs by leading the way when it comes to equality.

"I can't understand how Man United, being Man United, haven't got a women's team," Wright told Sky Sports' The Debate.

"It's important because it's Manchester United. Is it that they can't get a team together? No way.

"It's happening and Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and there's other teams that have got women's football teams so why haven't they?

"Maybe Man United might get a team going as well."
